Caddo Schools Considers Charter School Proposal for Struggling Campuses
Caddo Parish School Board leaders presented a plan Thursday night to introduce Texas Partnerships — a charter school model designed to turn around academically failing campuses — to the district. The proposal affects a number of low-performing Caddo schools as the Louisiana Department of Education has signaled potential intervention if the district does not act. No vote has been taken. Community meetings are expected before any board action.
Qualifying Period Closes; Full Candidate Fields Set for November 3
Louisiana’s qualifying period for the November 3, 2026 general election closed Thursday at 4:30 p.m. Full candidate fields are now set for Caddo and Bossier parish races, including Shreveport Mayor, school boards, judicial offices, and municipal seats across both parishes. A runoff, if needed, is set for Dec. 12, 2026.
