Caddo Parish $60 Million Sports Complex on November Ballot

Caddo Parish voters will decide Nov. 3 whether to approve a $60 million bond proposal to build an indoor sports complex in Shreveport. The facility would cover approximately 80,000 square feet, featuring up to 10 basketball courts, 20 volleyball courts, multiple pickleball courts, and a 15,000-square-foot family entertainment center on 12.5 acres with 700 parking spaces.

Bond debt would be repaid through the parish’s existing 1.5-mill property tax — no new taxes required. A parish-commissioned feasibility study projects $11 million in economic impact in year one, growing to $20 million by year five. The Caddo Parish Republican Party has issued a statement opposing the measure citing fiscal concerns.
