The Greenwood Police Department said officers and Caddo Fire District No. 3 responded Wednesday afternoon to the Interstate 20 eastbound on-ramp No. 3 after receiving a report of an unresponsive male in the grass.

Upon arrival, first responders located a deceased individual exhibiting signs of partial decomposition.

Because the cause of death remains undetermined, the Greenwood Police Department has turned the investigation over to the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Officials thanked the public for its patience and understanding as agencies continue the investigation.
