The City of Bossier City has issued a precautionary boil advisory for customers along East Texas Street from Youree Street to Benton Road following a water main break near 2061 E. Texas St.
According to the city, a contractor working in the area struck a 12-inch water main. Bossier City crews have isolated the line and are working to complete repairs.
Affected customers are advised to boil water for one minute before drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or preparing food until the advisory is lifted. Residents may continue using water for bathing and other non-consumption purposes.
The city said this is a precautionary boil advisory, not a boil order. Water samples will be submitted for testing, and residents will be notified once the advisory has been rescinded.
The advisory affects customers along East Texas Street from Youree Street to Benton Road.
