Citizen tip leads to arrest of wanted burglary suspect

A citizen tip led to the arrest of a wanted burglary suspect on July 20, 2026, according to the Shreveport Police Department.

Officers arrested Trevell Jackie Ray Tyler on active warrants connected to multiple property-crime investigations.

Police said a concerned citizen contacted law enforcement after seeing information on social media and reported that Tyler was at Ants Urban Lounge. Officers responded to the business, located Tyler and confirmed he was the wanted individual.

During the arrest, officers also discovered that Tyler was in possession of a stolen firearm. He was taken into custody without further incident and booked on the outstanding warrants, along with additional charges unrelated to the original investigations.

Tyler faces the following charges:

  • Five counts of simple burglary
  • Two counts of access device fraud
  • One count of principal to access device fraud
  • Resisting an officer
  • Possession of a stolen firearm

The Shreveport Police Department said the arrest demonstrates how information shared with the public can generate valuable tips and help officers quickly locate wanted individuals.

The department thanked the citizen who recognized Tyler and contacted law enforcement.
