Major League Fishing, the world’s largest tournament-fishing organization, has announced its 2027 Bass Pro Tour schedule, with Caddo and Cross lakes among the nine tournament venues showcased during the season.
It’s great news for MLF angler Nick LeBrun, a Benton resident and one of three Louisiana residents on the 51-angler tour. Others are Zwolle’s Justin Cooper and Colby Miller of Elmer. LeBrun finished 22nd on the 2026 MLF Bass Pro Tour with 338 points and won $56,843.
He has six career wins and 32 top 10s in 131 MLF events, collecting $1.1 million in winnings since 2019. LeBrun won back-to-back events in 2022 at Lake Guntersville and the James River, becoming the third angler to ever do so in FLW Tour or Pro Circuit history,
He won the 2018 All-American championship on Cross Lake.
The two lakes are the venues for Stage 2 of the 2027 Bass Pro Tour season, Feb. 25-28. Hosted by the Shreveport-Bossier Sports Commission, the event will showcase 50 of the top anglers in pro bass fishing competing for the sport’s biggest payouts, valuable Fishing Clash Angler of the Year points and qualification into REDCREST 2028, MLF’s most prestigious championship event.
“We’re excited to welcome the Bass Pro Tour to Shreveport-Bossier and continue our partnership with Major League Fishing,” said Sara Nelms, Director of Sports for the Shreveport-Bossier Sports Commission. “Our region offers world-class fisheries, passionate fans, and a community that embraces outdoor recreation. Events like the Bass Pro Tour not only showcase the incredible natural resources that make North Louisiana a true Sportsman’s Paradise but also create meaningful economic impact for local businesses while introducing anglers and their families to everything our destination has to offer.”
Although the Bass Pro Tour has visited Louisiana in the past – events have been held on Caney Creek, Lake D’Arbonne and Bussey Brake – this event will mark the first time that the MLF Bass Pro Tour has visited Caddo Lake and Cross Lake. Days 1 and 2 of the Qualifying Rounds of the event will take place at Caddo Lake, while Days 3 and 4 of competition will move to Cross Lake for the Knockout and Championship Rounds.
“The 2027 Bass Pro Tour schedule is exactly what this league is built for – great fisheries, passionate host communities and the best anglers in the world competing in a format that showcases every decision they make on the water,” said Daniel Fennel, MLF Senior Director of Tournament Operations for the Bass Pro Tour. “From historic venues like the St. Johns River, Toledo Bend and Lake Champlain to exciting stops like the Pasquotank River and our dual-lake event in Louisiana, this schedule will give our anglers a tremendous test and give fans a season full of storylines to follow, from start to finish.”
Toledo Bend will be the tour stop April 1-4, with anglers going out of Hemphill, Texas.
Each regular-season Bass Pro Tour event will feature the full field of anglers competing in the Qualifying Round on Days 1 and 2, followed by the Knockout Round on Day 3 and the Championship Round on Day 4. MLF’s signature catch-weigh-release format delivers real-time scoring via the SCORETRACKER® leaderboard and live coverage for fans throughout each day of competition.
Every minute of Bass Pro Tour competition will be streamed live on MLFNOW! through the MLF app, MyOutdoorTV (MOTV), Rumble and MajorLeagueFishing.com, giving fans unprecedented access to the strategies, adjustments and on-the-water drama that define the Bass Pro Tour.
