
Patty Kay Cox passed away on May 10, 2026, at her home in Shreveport, Louisiana after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Osborn Funeral Home, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Patty will be buried at Springhill Memorial Cemetery next to her parents on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
Patty was born on February 1, 1954, in Springhill, Louisiana. She was a resident of Shreveport for over 50 years. Patty was a proud graduate of Louisiana State University. After graduation, she worked as a paralegal in Shreveport and then as a Regulatory Analyst for the natural gas pipeline company, Arkla Energy Resources. She remained employed by Arkla and its successors, NorAm, CenterPoint Energy and Enable Gas Transmission for over 25 years until her retirement in 2015.
Patty was a lover of animals and took in several rescue dogs over the years. She was a longtime member of The Krewe of Centaur, and her friends and family always enjoyed seeing her in the parades and receiving specialty beads from her. Patty was also a fiercely loyal fan of LSU football.
Patty was preceded in death by her parents, R.C. and Katherine. She is survived by her beloved dog Buggzy, her longtime companion, Pat Watson, numerous cousins, including Janet McDermott, and many friends who loved her and will miss her witty remarks and dry sense of humor.
The family also wishes to thank Dorothy Edwards for her compassionate care of Patty in her final days.
