Centenary will compete in the 2026 College STUNT National Championships today as the Ladies, the No. 6 seed, will face No. 3 seed Saint Mary’s College (Ind.) at 2:30 at Lipscomb University in Nashville.
The two-year-old STUNT team has quickly emerged as a nationally-competitive squad.
“It’s an exciting moment for our program,” said Centenary head coach Kaylee King. “To be selected for the national championship is a huge honor, and something that these Ladies have worked hard for.
“They have put in countless hours to earn this spot and I’m so proud of each and every one of them. The true grit of these athletes is what makes coaching fun and to see them get to showcase that in post season play is awesome.
“We are thankful for everyone who has supported us along the way and we look forward to what Nashville has in store for us!”
TRACK & FIELD: The Ladies and Gents will compete in the 2026 SCAC Championships this weekend in Abilene, Texas. The meet, hosted by McMurry, will begin on Friday and conclude on Sunday at Wilford Moore Stadium. The Ladies finished eighth at last season’s event while the Gents finished 12th in Seguin, Texas.
LACROSSE: The Gents (10-3) will finish their season on Saturday at Colorado College (11-2). Centenary was last in action at home on April 11 when the Maroon and White fell 26-6 to Rhodes College in its home finale at Atkins Field.
MEN’S SOCCER: Assistant coach Joe O’Sullivan has been promoted to head coach of the Centenary men’s soccer program, Director of Athletics and Recreation David Orr announced.
O’Sullivan just completed his first season as an assistant with the Gents and has been serving as interim head coach following the departure of former head coach Kevin White. He was named the “Assistant Coach of the Year” at Centenary Athletics’ annual end-of-the-year banquet last week.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to lead the Centenary men’s soccer program,” said O’Sullivan.
“It’s a responsibility I don’t take lightly, and I’m committed to building something our players, alumni, and community can be proud of.”
SOFTBALL: The Ladies (16-19, 14-13 SCAC) finish their regular season on the road this weekend with a three-game set against Ozarks (18-19, 11-16 SCAC) in Clarksville, Ark. The series begins with a doubleheader on Friday at 4 and concludes on Saturday with a single game at noon.
Centenary was swept last weekend by the nationally-ranked University of St. Thomas Celts in Houston and aims to snap a four-game losing streak this weekend.
The SCAC Tournament will be held May 1-3 in Abilene, Texas and hosted by McMurry University.
The top six teams in the standings at the conclusion of the regular season qualify for the event and the Ladies are in fourth place in the standings. Centenary, picked to finish fifth in the conference preseason poll, has made nine consecutive SCAC Tournament appearances.
