Greenwood Police Department welcomes Officer Jennifer Anderson back to full-time duty

The Greenwood Police Department has announced the return of Officer Jennifer Anderson to full-time service, bringing with her years of experience and advanced education in the field of psychology.

Officer Anderson originally joined the department in 2013 after serving with the Minden Police Department. During her initial tenure, she earned multiple commendations and was awarded a Life Saver Award for intervening in a critical situation on the Interstate 20 east overpass, where she prevented a potential suicide.

In 2015, Anderson transitioned from patrol duties to serve as an investigator with the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services. Despite the career shift, she remained connected to Greenwood as a reserve officer.

Officials confirmed that Anderson officially returned to full-time duty on April 1.

Since leaving full-time patrol, Anderson has earned both a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Science in Forensic Psychology from LSU Shreveport. She is also set to begin work toward a Ph.D. in Psychology at Louisiana Tech University later this year.

The department noted that her return strengthens the agency with a combination of field experience, continued service, and academic achievement, further enhancing its ability to serve the Greenwood community.
