Shreveport firefighters honored at Louisiana Fallen Firefighters Memorial

Members of the Shreveport Fire Department traveled to Baton Rouge this past weekend to honor two of their own during a memorial ceremony recognizing fallen firefighters.

Captain Mark Allen and Captain Victor Green were added to the Louisiana Fallen Firefighters Memorial, joining seven other Shreveport firefighters whose names span more than a century of service and sacrifice.

Those previously honored include:
Michael Roach — February 4, 1898
Clayton Hilburn — February 6, 1915
Percy R. Johnson — September 17, 1984
Frankie Nelson — May 10, 2009
Tommy Lee Adams — December 12, 2009
Leonard L. Coney — January 6, 2021
Ralph E. Parker III — June 7, 2021

Captain Geoffrey M. Allen and Captain Victor Green, both of whom died in 2025, now join that list of service members remembered for their dedication and sacrifice.

Officials said the ceremony serves as a lasting tribute to the courage, character, and commitment shown by these firefighters in protecting the citizens of Shreveport, ensuring their legacy continues within both the department and the community.
