Bossier City approves public safety expansion, adds police and fire positions

Bossier City Council has unanimously approved a budget amendment aimed at strengthening public safety, adding new positions within both the police and fire departments.

The measure, supported by Mayor Tommy Chandler, will increase staffing levels by a total of 10 positions across the two departments. City officials say the investment is intended to enhance emergency response capabilities and improve overall community safety.

The expansion reflects what leaders described as a continued commitment to prioritizing public safety and supporting first responders in their efforts to serve residents.

Mayor Chandler expressed appreciation to the council for its support, noting the collaborative effort to further strengthen safety measures and position Bossier City as one of the safest communities in the state.
