Weather Outlook: Storms midweek followed by cooler temperatures

Residents in Caddo Parish and Bossier Parish can expect a round of showers and thunderstorms midweek followed by cooler and drier conditions heading into the weekend.

Cloudy skies will continue Tuesday with a chance of showers and a slight chance of thunderstorms during the afternoon. Temperatures are expected to climb into the lower 80s with south winds between 5 and 10 mph and occasional gusts up to 20 mph.

Rain chances increase significantly Wednesday as widespread showers and thunderstorms move into the region. High temperatures are forecast to reach the mid-70s with south winds around 10 to 15 mph. Rain chances are expected to reach about 80 percent.

By Wednesday evening, storms will begin to taper off, but scattered showers may linger before conditions clear. A cooler and less humid air mass will move in overnight, bringing temperatures down into the mid-40s with north winds between 10 and 15 mph and gusts up to 25 mph.

Thursday will bring a noticeable change in the weather, with mostly sunny skies and cooler temperatures. Highs are expected to reach the mid-60s with breezy northeast winds. Overnight temperatures will dip into the lower 40s under clear skies.

Warmer conditions will return Friday with sunny skies and highs in the mid-70s. The warming trend will continue into Saturday, with sunny weather and highs around 80 degrees.

By Sunday, clouds are expected to increase again with highs in the lower 80s. A slight chance of showers may develop Sunday evening before another cooler air mass moves into the area, dropping overnight lows into the mid-40s.

Looking ahead to Monday, mostly cloudy skies and much cooler temperatures are expected, with daytime highs only reaching the upper 50s.
