Community leaders and law enforcement officials gathered on March 5 for the grand opening of the Shreveport Police Department’s new North Police Substation.

The facility, located at 1407 N. Market Street, is intended to enhance public safety and increase law enforcement presence in North Shreveport.

Henry Whitehorn Sr. attended the opening along with local leaders and law enforcement partners. The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office said it looks forward to continuing its collaboration with the Shreveport Police Department to serve and protect residents throughout the parish.

Officials said the new substation represents a significant addition to public safety efforts in the North Shreveport community.
