Large woods fire near Bodcau WMA remains contained

Bossier Parish Fire District #1 reports a large woods fire burning near the Bodcau Wildlife Management Area, between Bodcau Dam Road and Highway 157. The fire was initially contained on March 6, with Louisiana Forestry deploying four dozers to help control the blaze. Fire District units confirmed that no structures were in danger and were released from the scene.

On the morning of March 7, Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry (LDAF) partners returned to the area and reported that the fire remains contained within established fire breaks. They estimate the fire covers roughly 20 acres, though it could be larger in areas that are difficult to access. Authorities again confirmed that no structures are in danger.

Bossier Parish Fire District #1 shared pictures and videos from the scene, captured by both their members and the forestry team, highlighting the ongoing partnership and efforts to manage the fire safely.
