Firefighters responded to a fully involved house fire early Sunday morning in the 100 block of Watson Road.

According to Bossier Fire District #7, SWEPCO received a smart meter notification on Feb. 15 at 4:18 a.m. indicating a power outage at the residence. Utility crews arrived at 4:49 a.m. and discovered the home completely engulfed in flames.

District #7 firefighters responded with mutual aid assistance from Northeast Fire District #5 and extinguished what remained of the structure. Officials said the home was vacant at the time of the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office.
