Huntington leads 12 local girls teams into LHSAA basketball playoffs

Defending state champion Huntington is the highest-seeded local girls high school team among a dozen Shreveport-Bossier squads that qualified for the LHSAA postseason brackets released Monday.

Just as they were last year, the Lady Raiders are the fourth seed in Select Division I and earned a first-round bye. They will be home for a second-round game, along with No. 8 Captain Shreve.

Two locals, Haughton and Parkway, play first-round games at home this week.

The 12 local teams in the playoffs with their opening-round assignments:
