The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office conducted an underage alcohol enforcement operation Feb. 11 that resulted in violations at two businesses in Caddo Parish.
According to information released Thursday by the sheriff’s office, Corporal Shonda Musco and Detective Roosevelt Tadlock carried out compliance checks at multiple licensed alcohol retailers across the parish. The operation utilized a confidential informant under the age of 21 who attempted to purchase alcoholic beverages to determine whether businesses were complying with Louisiana alcohol sales laws.
Authorities reported that alcohol was allegedly sold to the underage informant at two locations.
Summonses were issued for violation of Louisiana Revised Statute 14:93.11 — Unlawful Sales to Persons Under Twenty-One — to:
Jordan Wynn (DOB: 02/02/1999), Walmart Fuel Station, 4701 Northport Blvd., Shreveport
Charlsye Moore (DOB: 08/30/1970), Tobacco Country, 11590 Hwy 80, Greenwood
Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr. said the department conducts compliance operations periodically as part of ongoing efforts to reduce underage drinking and ensure retailers follow state regulations.
Whitehorn emphasized that alcohol retailers play a key role in preventing minors from gaining access to alcohol and reminded business owners and employees to carefully verify identification before completing alcohol sales.
