Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office, CADA sign agreement to expand crisis response services

Caddo Parish Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr. and Janet Miller, executive director of the Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse of Northwest Louisiana (CADA), signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Feb. 8 to strengthen collaboration in serving individuals experiencing substance use or mental health crises.

The agreement allows the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office and CADA to work together to identify and assist individuals in need of support and resources within the community. Sheriff Whitehorn has emphasized the importance of partnerships that bring agencies together to better serve people in crisis.

CADA began providing adult mobile crisis response services in 2025. Under the agreement, CADA’s Crisis Mobile Response Team may be deployed when sheriff’s deputies determine an individual is seeking help and appropriate resources.

Officials said the partnership aims to improve access to care while supporting law enforcement officers responding to mental health and substance use-related incidents.Enter the first part of your article here…
