The LSUS baseball team was undefeated, 59-0, in last year’s national championship season.

Now the Pilots are trying to beat the weather.

The possibility of wintry precipitation this weekend has accelerated the start of the 2026 season for LSUS, which Monday shifted its Friday-Saturday three-game home series with Tabor to a Thursday-Friday afternoon schedule.

Thursday’s schedule has been changed as of Tuesday.

A doubleheader will be played with an afternoon first pitch at 3. Friday will wrap up the series with a single game at noon.

Current forecasts lean toward temperatures in the low 50s during that stretch, with little chance of rain Thursday and a moderate projection for very light precipitation during the day Friday. Friday night d Saturday’s forecasts are not baseball-friendly.

After the Tabor series, the Pilots stay home for an exhibition contest next Tuesday evening against Centenary.
