The Southern University Board of Supervisors has officially launched its search for the next president of the Southern University System, the nation’s only historically Black university system.
Caddo Parish District Attorney James Stewart has been selected to serve on the Presidential Search Committee, joining faculty, staff, alumni, students, and community leaders in guiding the important process.
“Being part of this committee is a meaningful opportunity to help shape the future leadership of an institution that has played a pivotal role in education and the community,” DA Stewart said.
The committee will review candidates, provide input, and help ensure the selection process reflects the values and needs of the Southern University System community.
