New Woodlawn football coach Lavelle Wilson Jr. will be introduced Tuesday afternoon after four productive seasons as an offensive coordinator at two Monroe schools.
Wilson replaces Thedrick Harris, who stepped aside as coach after five seasons running the Knights’ program. Harris, who led Woodlawn to playoff appearances in 2023 and 2024, will remain as athletic director.
The introduction will be in the Woodlawn Hospitality Room at 3:15 Tuesday.
Wilson, who began coaching three years after he graduated from Richwood High in Monroe in 2005, spent last fall at his alma mater as offensive coordinator. The Rams recovered from a winless 2024 season to go 6-5 and reached the second round of the state playoffs.
Wossman made three straight state playoff trips while he was offensive coordinator for the Wildcats from 2022-24. As OC at Richwood (2017–19), he helped lead the Rams to a state finals appearance.
He spent three seasons (2013-16) as head football and basketball coach at Richwood Middle School, building the talent pipeline for the district.
