RUSTON – Louisiana Tech’s 2026 non-conference schedule announced Monday may result in the Bulldogs making another appearance in Shreveport down the road in 2030.
The Bulldogs unveiled a Sept. 19 visit to Baylor, which will reportedly be returned in 2030 or later, but in Shreveport, not Ruston. The LATech Sports Central social media account posted that report and added that the deal to play in Shreveport carries a $500,000 cancellation fee for both schools.
Previously known 2026 matchups against Northwestern State (Sept. 5, Tech’s season opener at Aillet Stadium) and the following week at LSU for the second straight year, were also confirmed by school officials Monday. A rematch of last year’s Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl will take place in Ruston on Oct. 3, with a return game at West Point slated in 2035.
The Bulldogs (7-5) will be in Shreveport to play Coastal Carolina (6-6) Dec. 30 in this year’s Independence Bowl. The schools could meet against next season when Tech joins the Sun Belt Conference, which will unveil its 2026 slate at a future date.
LSU topped Tech 24-0 this fall.
