Remembering Linda Michele Requard Hatcher

Linda Michele Requard Hatcher, born June 24, 1949, went to her heavenly home on November 24, 2025.

She dedicated her life to her family, to Christian ministry, and teaching in both secular and sacred settings. She also contributed articles to publications and wrote a book called Smooth Stones, sharing the experiences she and her husband shared in a life of ministry. Despite sickness and limited mobility in the later years of her life, she found ways to minister to others, sharing the love and message of Jesus to everyone in her circle of influence.

Linda was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland and attended Eastern High School. She then attended Oral Roberts University, where she received her undergraduate degree in 1971 and where she met Jim Hatcher, a seminary student and her husband-to-be. Jim and Linda were married in May of 1973 and later moved to Shreveport, LA where they dedicated themselves to sharing the Gospel of Christ and eventually founded a church, Zion Christian Fellowship in 1979. Jim and Linda served in the ministry of the church until Jim’s death in 2002. Linda received a Master’s of Education from Louisiana Tech; and after Jim’s death, she worked as a teacher and tutor. She moved to Arkansas in 2012 to be close to her daughter and grandchildren, and she lived in Arkadelphia, AR for the last portion of her life.

Linda has joined her beloved parents, Louis Theodore Requard, Sr. and Louise Evert Requard, as well as her husband Jim Hatcher, in the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. She is survived by her brother, Louis Theodore Requard, Jr., along with Ted’s wife Ina Requard, and their son Sven Requard; by her daughter, Becky Hatcher Williams, Becky’s husband Ferris Williams, and their children Spencer Williams and Avery Williams; and her son Jim Hatcher, Jim’s wife Melissa Hatcher, and their children Peyton Hatcher, Emily Hatcher, and Andrew Hatcher.

Services to celebrate her life and homegoing will be held on Friday, December 5th at 11:00am at Osborn Funeral Home, located at 3631 Southern Avenue, Shreveport, Louisiana. Following the funeral will be a graveside service at Forest Park Cemetery, located at 3700 St Vincent Ave, Shreveport, LA. There will be a luncheon and time of fellowship at 1:00 PM at Life Tabernacle, located at 4445 Meriwether Rd, Shreveport, LA.
