Remembering Ronald Wade Roberts

Ronald Wade Roberts, 55, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. A “Celebration of Life” Service was held on Nov. 1 at River of Life Church International. Officiating the service was Pastor Steve Marshall.

Wade was born on April 16, 1970 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Ronnie Burnette and Lynda Roberts. He graduated from Bethel Christian Academy in 1988. and married his sweetheart/angel baby, Cynthia, on December 12, 2008. He served in the United States Army. Wade was a supervisor at Printpack Inc., did carpentry work, and spent the last 10 years at the Roy O. Martin Plywood Co. in the finishing department.

Wade, lovingly known as Pappy or Woogie, was passionate in everything he did. He loved his morning motorcycle rides, golf, fishing, and definitely loved watching his LSU Tigers. He took his utmost joy in spending as much time as he could with his wife, children, grandchildren, family, and of course, his dogs.

Wade loved telling jokes and making people smile and laugh. He had the biggest, kindest heart, especially for those who seemed like the underdog. His light outshined even the darkest of times in his life and others. He was a light on Earth doing God’s work. We take comfort in knowing that Wade has gone home to be with the Lord, where his light will shine eternally in the presence of God’s love.

Wade is preceded in death by Ronnie and Norma Burnette (biological father and stepmother); sister, Mandy Quinley; grandmother, Florence Youngblood; uncle, Desma Burnette; and aunt, Becky Morgan.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Cynthia Roberts; parents, Clarence and Lynda Roberts; daughter, Brianna Slade and husband, Mark; son, Dustin Roberts; daughters, Alesha Boyd and husband, Ashton, Alayna Abner and Mike Linzer, and Anna Virella and husband, Andrew; nine grandchildren, Favour, Kevin, Kayleb, Aziah, Jackson, Carmichael, Tyler, Ashtyn, Levi; sisters, Ronda Smith and husband, Tim, Cindy Terrero and husband, Dennis; brothers, Danny Roberts and wife, Roxanne, and David Roberts and wife, Patricia; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Wade will be terribly missed, but we will forever love and cherish his memory.
