The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office is inviting parents and guardians to enroll their teens in the next C.H.O.I.C.E. (Choosing Healthy Options Instead of Criminal Engagement) class, a free youth diversion program designed to guide young people toward better decision-making.
The class will be held on Saturday, Oct. 18 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Community Relations and Crime Prevention Office, located at 1501 Corporate Drive, Shreveport, LA 71107.
Developed in response to rising concerns over youth involvement in fighting, vaping with THC, weapon possession, and gun violence, the C.H.O.I.C.E. program targets young people ages 12–17 who are at risk, have faced disciplinary issues at school, or have prior arrests.
The program’s goal is to educate participants on how to avoid future infractions, understand the consequences of illegal or risky behavior, and identify positive alternatives through effective decision-making strategies.
