The LSUS baseball team will visit the White House on Oct. 20 to recognize the first undefeated season in college baseball history.

The perfect Pilots were 59-0 this past season en route to the university’s first-ever NAIA national championship in any sport. School officials learned Wednesday that the team will be spotlighted at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue on a Monday, less than two weeks away.

The White House invitation came from Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, who represents Louisiana’s Fourth District  (including Shreveport-Bossier).

Johnson called the LSUS baseball team during the June 2 celebration in downtown Shreveport’s Festival Plaza to make the official invitation.

Further details of the visit are still being finalized, LSUS officials said.
