The Shreveport Police Department’s Vice Unit continues to focus on addressing prostitution and human trafficking in our city, with concentrated enforcement in the Monkhouse Drive corridor. On September 17, 2025, Vice officers conducted an operation that resulted in multiple arrests:

• Cathlina Cummings was taken into custody for prostitution and narcotics-related offenses.

• Angela Dupont was also arrested for prostitution and was discovered to have an outstanding warrant for theft.

These arrests are part of an ongoing initiative aimed at disrupting illegal activity, reducing the presence of prostitution, and preventing human trafficking in Shreveport. Vice investigators work hand-in-hand with other divisions of the department as well as community stakeholders to address the root causes of these crimes and provide resources for victims who may be exploited.

Shreveport Police Chief Wayne Smith emphasized that these enforcement efforts are not only about making arrests but also about restoring confidence and order in the Monkhouse area. “Our goal is to clean up this corridor and make it a safer place for everyone. That means removing criminal elements, but also partnering with organizations that can help individuals escape cycles of addiction and exploitation,” Chief Smith said.
