Temporary water service interruption, boil advisory for Haughton residents beginning today

The Bossier Parish Consolidated Waterworks/Sewerage District No. 1 (CWSD #1) would like to notify residents and businesses of a scheduled water service interruption and subsequent boil advisory affecting a portion of Winfield Road in Haughton.

A contractor working on behalf of CWSD #1 will perform a critical water line tie-in on Winfield Road, beginning at 9am today. This work will require a temporary shutdown of water service for approximately one hour to homes located between Bellevue Road and Violet Drive.

Due to the loss of water pressure during this operation, a mandatory boil advisory will be issued once service is restored. The advisory will apply only to residents and businesses on Winfield Road between Bellevue Road and Violet Drive.

During the boil advisory, affected residents are advised to:
  • Bring tap water to a full rolling boil for at least one minute before use.
  • Boil water even if it has been filtered.
Use boiled or bottled water for:
  • Drinking
  • Cooking
  • Brushing teeth
  • Food preparation
Water samples will be collected and submitted to the Louisiana Department of Health’s Office of Public Health in Shreveport for analysis. The advisory will remain in effect until testing confirms the water is safe for consumption.

CWSD #1 appreciates the community’s patience and cooperation during this essential maintenance and will provide updates as they become available.
