9-11 Remembrance Ceremony set Thursday morning

 
Keep Bossier Beautiful (KBB) will host a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony on Thursday at 9 a.m. at Liberty Garden at the Bossier City municipal complex to honor and remember the lives lost and the heroes who emerged on that fateful day 24 years ago. The ceremony will include a moment of silence, speeches from distinguished guests, and special performances.
 
Program highlights will include:
 
• 9:03am: Moment of Silence
• Master of Ceremonies: Louis Johnson, Bossier City Public Information Officer
• Welcome Address: The Honorable Tommy Chandler, Mayor of Bossier City
• Opening Invocation: Rev. Lee Jeter, Good Hope Baptist Church of Bossier City
• Presentation of Colors: Bossier High School – Air Force Junior ROTC
• Pledge of Allegiance: Charlee Prothro, Haughton High School – 11th grade
• National Anthem: Jenny Arnette, Wife of Firefighter Chad Arnette
• Essay Contest Winner: 5th Grade Bossier Elementary School Student – TBD, “What is a Hero?”
• Introduction of Keynote Speaker: Colonel Russ Mathers (Ret.), United States Air Force, Director, Strikewerx Cyber Innovation Center
• Keynote Speaker: Colonel Warren G. Ward (Ret.), United States Air Force, Executive Director, Louisiana Tech Research Institute
• Closing Prayer & Benediction: Rev. Justin Haigler, Lead Pastor, Simple Church
• Special Tribute: 3000 flags placed on POW Drive by students from Camp Minden Youth Challenge Program
