
The Bossier Arts Council invites everyone to come and enjoy these art programs and events this September.
This is the last month to see both “UNnatural Nature” by Nick Furlong in the East Bank Gallery and “Curiouser & Curiouser” by Chang Liu in the Virginia Cook Gallery. Both of these show come down on the Sept. 25, so see the work during their open hours Monday – Saturday, 11am – 5pm.
There will be plenty of art and activities in the East Bank during the first weekend of Sept. 6. First off, register for an Abstract Art Class with L. Wilcott Events in the Annex. Learn some introductory techniques with supplies included with registration. This class will run 1-2pm in the Art Annex Building.
Down the street at The Seventh Tap Eastbank, sign up for the Shreveport-Bossier Sports Commission Battle of the Bags Cornhole Tournament with proceeds going to help local First Responders. Registration is $25 and the tournament kicks off at 12pm.
Sept. 11, meet back up for another cup of BAC Brew – Artist Support with Karen La Beau. Karen will be hosting a round of artist talks in the East Bank Gallery for artists to share information and learn something new. This free meeting is Thursday from 11:30am – 12:30pm.
Sept. 14, titillate those taste buds with another Culinary Exploration at the BAC. Art Never Tasted So Good: The Art of Rice feat. Chef Melvin Nelson is set to explore rice in four different dishes, all prepared by Golden Fork Winner Chef Mel: Chef Services. This dining event will be Sunday from 3-5pm. Tickets are $70 on Zeffy.
On Sept. 15, polish those acting skills with Audience Participation (A-Part) – Acting Workshop in the East Bank Theatre. This month’s workshop will feature Special Guest Greg Lawrence of CRM Studios – Louisiana as he discusses what he looks for as a produce in their projects. The workshop will run Monday from 6:30-8:30pm and is open registration.
Lastly, on Sept. 18, check out the biggest Liner Session to date. DJ ReadyRoc will be hosting The Liner – A Music Appreciation Series: Prince and the Revolution with a complete discussion on the Mega-hit album and film by Prince. The lively session is free to the public and will be Thursday, 6-9pm.
