SFD’s Aniyah Brown awarded multi-state Firefighter of the Year honor by Kiwanis Club

Aniyah Brown

The Shreveport Fire Department is proud to announce that Firefighter Aniyah Brown has been selected as the 2025 Firefighter of the Year by not only our local Kiwanis Club, but also for the entire region which spans Louisiana, Mississippi, and western Tennessee.

The Kiwanis Club is dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time. Their mission aligns with the values of Shreveport Fire Department: community first, serving with honor, integrity, and respect. Firefighters, like Kiwanis members, dedicate themselves to helping others, protecting lives, and strengthening the bonds of their communities.

Aniyah’s recognition is a testament to her selflessness, professionalism, and unwavering dedication to the citizens of Shreveport. Chief Clarence Reese, Jr. commented, “As we travel to Memphis, TN to accept this award in support of Aniyah, this is about more than recognition for one of our firefighters. This is about proudly showing what the City of Shreveport and the State of Louisiana can accomplish when service is at the heart of everything we do.”
