The Shreveport Police Department has arrested 34-year-old Justin Emerson in connection with a house fire that occurred in the early morning hours of August 3.

Just after 1am, officers responded to a report of a structure fire in the 2500 block of Highland Avenue. Upon arrival, they found the residence at 2512 Highland Avenue fully engulfed in flames. Officers quickly
detained Emerson at the scene.

A joint investigation by the Shreveport Police Department and the Shreveport Fire Department determined that Emerson was allegedly responsible for intentionally setting the fire. He was also found to be in possession of a stolen firearm at the time of his arrest.

Emerson has been charged with one count of aggravated arson and one count of possession of a stolen
firearm. He was booked into the Shreveport City Jail.
