The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that beginning on Friday, July 18, the LA 2 bridge over Jeems Bayou, north of the Trees community in north Caddo Parish, will be closed.

This bridge closure is scheduled to be in place until Sunday, July 20, and is necessary to allow DOTD crews to perform bridge piling and other repairs to the structure.

This bridge is located approximately 2.1 miles west of the intersection with LA 1 (see above map)

Detour signage will be in place.

This work will be performed WEATHER PERMITTING.

DOTD appreciates the public’s patience and reminds the public to drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between vehicles.

Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
