Officers with the Shreveport Police Department were dispatched to the 6200 block of Windermere Drive in reference to a reported shooting on Saturday, July 5, at approximately 7am.

Upon arrival, officers discovered two individuals suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The female
victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Shreveport Fire Department. The second
individual, a male, was transported to Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport with life-threatening injuries
and is currently listed in stable condition.

During the course of the investigation, detectives with the SPD Homicide Unit identified and arrested
Richard Williams in connection with the incident. Williams has been charged with Second Degree
Homicide for the murder of the female victim.

This investigation remains ongoing. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
