BAC celebrates turning 45 with a month of fun events

It’s July, and the Bossier Arts Council turns 45 this month. To celebrate, the BAC has a month full of fun events.
 
Their ongoing shows “Impressed” by Derek Sarvis and “The Inner Realms” by Dyra Turner are still available for viewing in the East Bank Gallery and Virginia Cool Gallery respectively. Visit the galleries Tuesday through Saturday, 11am – 5pm to view these work.
 
There are quite a few other events happening in the East Bank Gallery this July.
 
On Thursday, July 10, join Karen La Beau: My Life on Canvas for some casual artist talks with the BAC’s new event, BAC Brew. Artists can enjoy a nice cup of coffee while Karen speaks on various Artist Support opportunities here in the SBC! Bring a favorite cup and dive into the discussions between 11:30am 12:30pm.
 
On July 17, join the BAC for Celebrate 45 Rotations. That’s right, the BAC turns 45 this year and they are celebrating with a Paint Party & Social. Friends and fans of the BAC are invited to come through and paint Old 45 Recordswhile listening to live music and enjoying tasty treats from 5pm – 7pm. Attendance is free, but a donation to their non-profit in increments of 45 are encouraged.
 
Rounding out the end of month on July 31 is the return of The Liner with DJ ReadyRoc. For this session attendees will be listening to and discussing “Stronger Than Pride,” the third studio album by SADE. The event will be from 7pm – 9pm and attendance is free.
 
Looking for a Summer Art Camp? The Art Annex Studio Resident, PYOP – Paint Your Own Party, will be hosting a week long Art Camp from July 7-11 from 9am – 12pm. Coming back to the East Bank Theatre is Luretta films with the third installment of their “ERUPT” series, ERUPT 3: Vengeance Of The Fallen. The screening will take place on July 19 at 11am, 4pm, and 8pm. Tickets are online.
 
Also returning is Don’t Take This Serious Comedy with Comedy In East Bank feat. Kevin Hollingsworth on Saturday, July 26. Doors open at 7pm and tickets are available online.
 
The BAC will also be CLOSED on July 4.
