Haughton, LA — The Bossier Parish Consolidated Waterworks/Sewerage District No. 1 (CWSD #1) has issued a boil water advisory for residents in Haughton who are served by the Village Water System.
Yesterday evening, a flush hydrant was accidentally damaged by a bush hog cutting grass along Chandler Road, affecting the water line between the 200 and 900 blocks, including Roach and Crawford Roads. Crews responded quickly to make repairs, but the temporary loss of water pressure prompted officials to issue a precautionary boil advisory.
Boil water instructions are as follows:
• Bring tap water to a full rolling boil for at least one minute.
• Boil water even if it has been filtered.
The Bossier Parish Police Jury strongly recommends the use of boiled or bottled water for:
• Drinking
• Cooking
• Brushing teeth
• Preparing food
Water samples will be collected and sent to the Louisiana Department of Health’s Office of Public Health in Shreveport for testing. The advisory will remain in effect until test results confirm the water is safe to drink.
