The Bossier Parish Community College baseball team pulled off plenty of late-game rallies among its 35 wins this season, but the shoe was on the other foot this weekend as the Cavaliers were booted from the NJCAA Region 14 Tournament on their homefield.

After swatting Alvin Community College 7-0 to open tournament play, top-seeded BPCC (35-18) fell by identical 6-5 scores to No. 2 San Jacinto (39-15) and third-seeded Tyler JC (35-23).

San Jac scored twice in the seventh to tie it at 5-all on Friday, then got the go-ahead run on an error in the top of the ninth. The Ravens drew 14 walks.

Against Tyler, BPCC had a 5-2 lead in the seventh but Tyler rallied, drawing within a run by scoring a pair in the seventh. TJC won it in the bottom of the ninth on a bases-loaded sacrifice fly followed by a walk-off RBI single, the 15th hit of the day for the visitors.

San Jac won the Region XIV championship with an 8-3 victory over Tyler.
