Two-alarm fire at Villa Norte Apartments

The Shreveport Fire Department received a report of an apartment fire at the 1600 block of Fullerton Avenue on Thursday, May 1, at 10:23am. The call was made by a neighboring business.

Engine 1 arrived on scene within 3 minutes and reported smoke and flames coming from 3 separate units within the complex. Due to the distance between the units, responding crews requested a full 2-Alarm response for additional manpower.

It took the efforts of 18 fire units and nearly 40 firefighters responding to the incident before it was brough under control by 10:48 a.m. There are no reports of any injuries to citizens or firefighters at this time. This apartment complex remains vacant and no utilities are connected.

The origin and cause of the fire remain under investigation by Shreveport Fire Arson Investigators. The public is urged to report any suspicious activity at any vacant property to the proper authorities. This is the second fire incident reported at the Villa Norte Apartments for the year.
