2025 Camp I’m Still Me coming May 31

The Shreveport Fire Department invites the public to join them on Saturday, May 31, as they celebrate the start of the 2025 Camp I’m Still Me.

Camp I’m Still Me (CISM) is a free summer camp for children aged 5-17 who have sustained burn injuries. It was founded in 1992 by burn specialist Dr. Kevin Sittig and is annually held in Scottsville, Texas.

Campers participate in various activities such as games, crafts, swimming, and fishing, and find comfort and support in the 3:1 camper-to-counselor ratio and the presence of adult burn survivors as counselors. The camp also offers emotional healing and the formation of lasting bonds with other burn survivors. It is staffed yearly by healthcare professionals and firefighters within our community whose mission is to bring joy and healing to these young survivors.

Please visit SFD at 3 of our local fire stations – Central Fire Station 1, Fire Station #8, and Fire Station #17 – on May 31 from 9am to 12pm.
