The Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office is celebrating Mateo Guerrero, the son of Bossier Sheriff’s Office SRO Matt Guerrero and Cil Guerrero, on receiving the scholarship award from the Louisiana Sheriff’s Honorary Membership Program.

Sheriff Whittington joined in congratulating Mateo by stating, “This scholarship recognizes outstanding academic achievement, leadership, and character – qualities that Mateo clearly embodies.” He added, “Academic awards by this program presented to local students demonstrate what the Louisiana Honorary Membership Program is all about. This is one of our finest accomplishments. It invests in our future and gives something back to the community. This would not be possible without the generous support of Bossier Parish’s Honorary Members of the Louisiana Sheriff’s Association.”

Mateo plans to attend Northwestern State University to pursue a degree in finance while participating in the ROTC program. He will also be leaving soon to attend Military Basic Training for four months.

BPSO is incredibly proud of Mateo and can’t wait to see all the amazing things he will accomplish in the future.
