Shreveport Fire Department responded to a 911 call with for an apartment complex fire at 1900 block of Centenary Blvd. on Saturday, April 19, at 1:41am.

Engine 5 arrived first on scene at 1:46 a.m. and reported smoke and flames visible coming from the second floor unit in the rear of the 2-story brick structure. The incident was brought under control at 2:06 a.m. with 12 fire units, 36 firefighters responding to the incident.

Fortunately, no injuries to any citizens or firefighters have been reported at this time. This apartment complex is vacant, and no utilities are present. The public is encouraged to report any suspicious activity to the proper authorities.

The origin and cause of the fire remain under investigation by Shreveport Fire Arson Investigators.
