Calvary’s TJ Jamison drained a three-quarters court shot to end the first quarter of the top-seeded Cavaliers’ state quarterfinal homecourt blowout of Lafayette Renaissance Charter Academy Friday night.
A game-ending half-court buzzer-beater beat Huntington at St. Thomas More in Lafayette, denying the Raiders a shot at overtime against one of the state’s most successful programs, and dashing dreams of a trip to this week’s LHSAA Marsh Madness state tournament in Lake Charles.
Bossier’s Bearkats cruised past visiting A.J. Ellender and into a state semifinal matchup with District 1-4A rival Minden in Lake Charles. The Bearkats beat the Crimson Tide in their regular-season meeting but Minden is the No. 2 seed in Non-Select Division II and Bossier is No. 6.
