The Town of Haughton issued a scam alert, warning citizens of a scam around utilities. An email is being disseminated to residents claiming to be the Haughton Department of Property Utilities and that unpaid charges are associated with their accounts. This is FRAUDULENT. Anyone who lives within the municipal limits of Haughton or are supplied by Haughton Municipal utilities will not ever be contacted via email for this type of issue.
