Turf installation at Pinchback’s softball field complete

The new youth baseball infield turf installation is now complete at P.B.S. Pinchback Park (7903 Jefferson Paige Rd.-Shreveport). A big thank you to Major League Baseball and the Major League Baseball Players Association Youth Development Foundation for awarding Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation $50,000 to assist with upgrade costs for this $400,000 park improvement project.

“As a new nationally accredited parks department, this is now the standard for our Caddo Parish park system. Our resilient Caddo Parish youth and respective families deserve to have quality parks and athletic facilities in their communities,” said Patrick Wesley-Director of Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation Department.

The remaining park improvements are ongoing (new ballfield/dug out fencing and a new asphalt overlay parking lot). The ballfield will open to the public sometime in April (pending any major weather delays) and will serve as Caddo Parish Park and Recreation Department’s primary youth development baseball/softball field for girls and boys, ages 3- 10.
