The Shreveport Police Department patrol officers responded to a report of a shooting at 442 Choctaw Trail on Feb. 7 at approximately 7:43pm.

Upon arrival, officers located a victim suffering from a single gunshot wound to his right wrist. The victim informed the officers that he had been shot by his cousin, Cartravious Shepard, following a verbal dispute that escalated into a physical altercation. Witnesses on the scene reported that Shepard was last seen walking away from the area.

Emergency medical personnel arrived promptly and provided medical assistance to the victim. While officers were conducting interviews with witnesses, the suspect was brought back to the scene by family members and was taken into custody without incident. 

Shepard was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of Aggravated Battery and one count of Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property related to the shooting.
