2-alarm blaze in 3000 block of Country Club Dr.

Shreveport Fire Department received a report of a house fire in the 3000 block of Country Club Drive on Sunday, Feb. 9, at 5:04pm. Engine 14 arrived on scene at 5:06pm and reported heavy black smoke coming from a two-story wood frame home. A two-alarm was called by Fire Command at 5:32pm due to the location and spread of the fire in the home.

It took the efforts of 16 fire units and 40 fire personnel to bring the incident under control at 6:08pm. Residents were alerted by smoke within the home and able to escape before calling 911. No injuries have been reported to citizens or firefighters at this time.

The origin and cause of the fire remains under investigation by Shreveport Fire Department Arson Investigators.
