Suspect arrested in connection to 2024 home evasion

Shreveport Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a violent home invasion that occurred on Nov. 24, 2024, in the 2800 block of Gloria Dr.

On the day of the incident, officers responded to a report of an armed individual and discovered a female victim bleeding from the mouth and a residence with significant damage. An investigation revealed that Jacoby Kinsey had forced his way into the home by physically pushing down the complainant. During the attack, Kinsey also threw a child’s toy through the front window, further damaging the property.

Kinsey reportedly threatened multiple individuals at a residence with a firearm before fleeing the scene. Despite extensive efforts, officers were unable to locate him immediately after the incident.

A warrant was subsequently issue for Kinsey’s arrest, charging him with one count of Home Invasion, multiple counts of Child Endangerment, and Property Damage.

Kinsey was taken into custody Jan. 13 by SPD’s Warrants Unit with assistance from the Shreveport City Marshal’s Office.
