
Shreveport Police officers responded to a call from Walgreens located on 3100 N. Market Street on Monday, Jan. 6, just before 2pm. The call was in regard to known serial thief, Tony Carver. Carver, who has been linked to thefts at multiple locations in the area, was reported stealing from the store once again.
Officers arrived on the scene and observed Carver leaving the location. Upon contact, he initially appeared cooperative but suddenly removed his sweater and fled on foot. The chase led officers through a wooded area in the 3000 block of N. Market Street. Carver was ultimately apprehended after being found lying in a ditch near the northbound ramp of 220-W on N. Market Street.
Carver was taken into custody, and minor injuries he sustained during his attempt to evade arrest were treated by the Shreveport Fire Department.
Further investigation revealed that this incident marked the 13th theft-related offense involving Carver within the past year. He was charged with Resisting an Officer and Organized Retail Theft.
