During this cold weather stay warm with clothing and be cautious of fires as they can spread, causing damage to property and loss of life. Do not light fires in an enclosed area as the carbon monoxide risk is exponentially higher and the risk of death increases. It is false that alcohol can keep a person warm; alcohol thins the bloodstream leading to hypothermia.
Contact Shreveport Police or CADA for assistance. As of Monday 1/6/25, the low is 28° and the high is 44° for the entire week with snow and rain on Thursday (1/09/25) and Friday (1/10/25). These temperatures are extremely dangerous for those outside.
Contact resources before it’s too late.
