
SPD officers responded to reports of a fight at the Round Bar, located at 3044 Youree Drive, on Dec. 8 at around 12:20am. The complainant reported that an armed male subject was involved in the altercation.
Upon arrival, officers were directed to the suspect, identified as 25-year-old Cameron Davis, by the bartender. Davis was detained on the scene, and a pat-down search revealed a loaded handgun concealed in his underwear.
According to witnesses, Davis became confrontational with other patrons, initiating a physical altercation. During the fight, the bartender and another witness reported observing Davis reaching for a handgun in his waistband.
While in police custody, Davis displayed violent and disruptive behavior, including kicking the doors and windows of the patrol vehicle. Officers used OC spray in an attempt to gain his compliance.
Upon arrival at the jail, Davis continued his combative behavior, physically and verbally defying jail staff. He directed profane, racist, and derogatory remarks toward SPD and SFD personnel.
Due to complaints of injury, Davis was transported to a local hospital for evaluation, where he remained noncompliant. He spat in the face of a hospital staff member before being returned to jail.
Davis was charged with multiple offenses including:
- Battery of a Police Officer
- Resisting an Officer
- Battery of a Correctional Facility Employee
- Resisting an Officer with Force or Violence
- Simple Battery
- Negligent Carrying of a Concealed Handgun
- Possession of a Firearm on Premises Serving Alcohol
Additionally, Davis was found to have an outstanding warrant for Theft.
Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported during the incident.
